Apave Solution
Last October, a consortium composed of Apave, our subsidiary, Sénégal Apave Sahel, and the Quartz company delivered a report assessing industrial risks at the Autonomous Port of Dakar (APD). The study was conducted over more than eights months. Its goals were to identify potential sources of human and environmental hazards in the event of accident (fire, explosion, atmospheric dispersal of chemicals, water and soil pollution) as well as impact sources during normal operations (air emissions, discharges of waste into water or soil, odor sources, noise and waste storage and streams). The study completed a diagnostic assessment of 100 companies located within the APD, including Sonacos, Africamer, ICS, SSPC, Sobao, Shell, SPP, Sénégal Pêche, Grands Moulins and SDV. Covering 330 hectares, APD is home to port activities such as handling, bulk storage, container storage, refit and maritime traffic, private-sector activities connected with port operations, such as oil, trade in grain and chemicals and fishing, and various activities involving the food and chemical manufacturing industries. |
